Scope of Engagement

Future Com will survey a deployed wireless network to determine RF coverage in a facility up to 100,000 sq. ft.

A wireless site survey will be done to determine coverage, capacity and redundancy of wireless (802.11g) within the coverage area. Up to one dozen (12) existing wireless access points will be analyzed. The scope for standard services includes one floor (but can be provided for any facility by a custom quote). Frequency allocation planning for these WAPs will also be provided.

Based on the results of this survey, Future Com will make detailed recommendations on how to resolve any issues with coverage gaps or high noise areas.

Future Com will provide an engagement of up to four (4) days that includes an active and passive survey of the facility and will provide documentation of findings and recommendations. Two (2) days will be utilized for the on-site survey of the engagement and the remaining time (2 days) will be used to prepare the recommendation and the documentation.

Tasks

Hold pre-survey meeting to discuss path and objectives.
Perform pre-survey spectrum analysis to determine possible interfering devices.
Plot location of all pre-survey WAP’s into maps.
Verify settings (channels, power output, etc.) on all WAP’s.
Walk site according to agreed path.
Perform both active and passive surveys.
Model wireless data to determine most optimized placements of existing WAP’s.
Document specific switch and location for each WAP.
Make recommendations on additional switches if needed.
Wireless network design to optionally include a fully meshed wireless design for high availability.
Model data using recommended power adjustments on WAP’s.

Deliverables

Completed active and passive wireless site surveys.
Documentation of report results and recommendations on both CD and printed hard copy.
Modeling of survey at recommended power.
Conclusion of Work document.
